Clarice J. Brekke, age 96, of Frost, died Thursday, August 28, 2014, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at United Lutheran Church in Frost, with Rev. Arne Halbakken officiating. Burial will be in United Lutheran Cemetery, Frost. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth is assisting the family with the arrangements. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comClarice was born March 17, 1918, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of Jens E. and Aletta B. (Peterson) Jensen. She was a 1936 graduate of Buffalo Center, Iowa High School where she took her Normal Training. She taught for a short time at country schools near Rake & Buffalo Center, Iowa before her marriage to Edmund A. Brekke in April of 1940 in Thompson, Iowa. While Edmund worked at the Frost Elevator, Clarice was a homemaker raising their two children. Clarice was a longtime member of United Lutheran Church in Frost where her love for music found her part of the choir and church organist for many years. She was also active in the church circle and ladies aide. Clarice was a devoted caregiver to her mother and husband during their final days as love for family was of greatest importance to her.Clarice is survived by her daughter, Connie Wrase of Frost, her son, Gary (Connie) Brekke of Rochester, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edmund in1986, brothers, Alvin and Marion Jensen, sister, Evelyn Hanson, son-in-law, Bill Wrase and grandson-Derek Wrase.
