Audrey Ankeny, age 86, of Blue Earth, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. The Children of Audrey Clark-Ankeny will be having a private burial of our Mom''s ashes on Saturday June 6th, 2015. We would like to host our cousins and friends at 1:30 PM for coffee and brownies at Double Play in Blue Earth, MN. Audrey was born December 14, 1928, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Leonard James and Elsie Ida (Kuhlman) Clark. Audrey attended school in Fairmont where she was a cheerleader; which lead her to meet her future husband Scott, who was a cheerleader in Blue Earth. Audrey married Vernon Scott Ankeny on July 4, 1946 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Blue Earth where Audrey was a cub scout den mother and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she taught in the summer Religious Education Program. Audrey loved to read, golf, ski, play bridge, go dancing and out to dinner, and have coffee with her friends in their regular coffee group. Audrey lived her life around her children and grandchildren, and also loved to support her husband Scott in any community project he was working on. Scott & Audrey enjoyed traveling for business and pleasure, especially to Hawaii and Alaska through the years. Scott died in 2002. Audrey Ankeny is survived by her sons: Scott L. (Debbie) Ankeny of Blue Earth, Terry (Julie) Ankeny of Blue Earth, Chris (Sue) Ankeny of Blue Earth, her daughters, Patty (Steve) Hague of Blue Earth & Shelly (Rahn) Greimann of Blue Earth, her sisters: Levon Taylor of Kansas City, Gloria Claesson of California, Virginia "Ginger" Trayhan of California, her brother, Mike (Ivy) Clark of Reno, Nevada, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Scott in 2002, sister-Beverly Swift and brother, James. Memorials are preferred to the Ankeny Family.
