Evelyn I. Ferley

Evelyn was born October 21, 1917, in Hampden, ND, the daughter of Gehard J. and Bernice (Wheeler) Sabin. She was raised in North Dakota where she attended Alsen High School. She came to Frost in 1935 and was married to Gaylord A. Ferley on June 12, 1936 in Lake, Mills, Iowa. The couple lived in Northwood, Iowa for a few years and later lived back in the Frost and surrounding areas unit 1957 when they moved permanently to Elmore. Evelyn was a homemaker but had also been an egg candeler and had worked at the Elmore Used Clothing store for 21 years until she was 82 years old. She was a longtime member of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore where she was very active several church organizations, groups and circles. She was also active in Senior Citizens event and Home Extension group in Elmore for several years. Evelyn is survived by her her daughter, Myrna Sorenson of Kiester, , her sons: Gaylen (Margo) Ferley of Mankato, Dennis Ferley of Mankato, Dallas (Pam) Ferley of Eugene, Oregon , her brother, Ralph Sabin of Albert Lea, her brother, John (Connie) Sabin of Lake Mills, Iowa, her sister in law, Gladys Neidlinger of Cando, North Dakota, 11 grandchildren , 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gaylord in 1997, sisters, Doris Thompson, Virginia Hauge & Judy Work, brothers: Eugene Sabin, Ronald Sabin, and son-in-law, Wally Sorenson.
