Memorial serivices for Jean Stensland were held in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Local memorial services will be held in Blue Earth on Friday, May 24 at 11:00 AM at Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth.Jean Ann Stensland, age 84 of Los Lunas, New Mexico, formerly of Blue Earth, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in New Mexico. Jean was born February 26, 1929 in Fairmont, MN the daughter of Ray and Louise (Wold) Skagerberg. She graduated from Blue Earth High School and was later married to George Stensland on June 7th 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. They farmed for 19 years in rural Blue Earth and moved into the city of Blue Earth in 1966, where they resided until 2001, when they moved to Chandler, Arizona. In 2005 she moved to Los Lunas, New Mexico. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 68 years. She was a member of the Ladies Aide for 50 years. She taught Sunday school for 5 years. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 60 years. Jean was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Chandler, AZ for 4 years and of the Valley Lutheran Church in Los Lunas, New Mexico for the last 7 years. Jean is survived by her daughter, Judy Hinirichsen of Yelm, WA, son Tom (Priscilla) Stensland of Los Lunas, NM, daughter, Gloria Curtis and brother-in-law, Ronald (Marilyn) Stensland of Blue Earth.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George in 2005.
