Eleanor "Ele" Franklin, age 93, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth, with Kathy Blair officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at St. Luke''s. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth is assisting the family with the arrangements. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comEleanor was born January 11, 1920, in Blue Earth, the daughter of Henry and Henrietta (Beidl) Jamieson. She was raised in Faribault Co. where she was a graduate of Blue Earth High School. She attended Mankato Business College and worked for various business in the area before becoming a deputy clerk of court at the Faribault Co. Courthouse in 1960. Eleanor was married to Herman Rode and later to Roscoe Smith and then to Fredric "Fritz" Franklin. She retired from the courthouse in 1990. Eleanor was very proud of her Scottish heritage and enjoyed fishing, bowling, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling at her lake home in Hackensack, MN.Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Sharon Zehm of Blue Earth, her son, Byron (Brenda) Smith of Milaca, grandchildren: Sharilyn, Susan, Ron, Trenton, Colton, Taylor & Peyton, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her first great great grandchild due any day now.She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, sister, Helen (Arvin) Stenejhem and niece, Trudy Harmon.
