EDITH "PEGGY" MARGARET MELIZA, age 77, of Blue Earth, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013, at her home.Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN at a later date. Visitation time will be from 9:00-11:00, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. She was raised in Vernon Center and graduated from Garden City High School in 1954. On December 5, 1954 in Chaska, MN she married Harley Robert Meliza. Together they lived in Mankato for 14 years, and then moved to Good Thunder for 17 years, later moving to Arizona for 15 years and finally moving to Blue Earth in 2004.She is survived by her husband, Harley Meliza of Blue Earth, daughter, Mary Kay (Tom) Doyen of Good Thunder, son, David ( Tammy) Meliza of Mankato, son, Dean Meliza of North Mankato, son, Mark Meliza of Robbinsdale, MN, brother, Leslie James Weed of Thornton, CO, sister, Mary Lou (Herm) Meyer of Pipestone, brother, Harold (Alice) Weed of North Mankato, sister, Kathy ( Dewey) Zabel of Waldorf, MN 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her daughter Dawn Marie, and her parents.
