Marie Zielske, age 91, of Guckeen, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wes Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMarie was born November 13, 1921, in rural Elmore, MN, the daughter of Henry and Florella (Krosch) Grimmelman. Marie graduated form Elmore High School in 1937 and was married to Elmer L. Zielske on August 20, 1939 in Ledyard, Iowa. Marie was a homemaker and wife and concentrated on raising he children before becoming a Christian Day School Teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. She taught at the church school for many years and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. The church was important to her and she was active in the Ladies Aide, Choir, LWML, Bell Choir and in other capacities. She also served on the Verona Township Extension, Blue Earth Valley Concert Association and volunteered at the hospital gift shop. Marie was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed knitting, hardanger, gardening and canning produce. Marie is survived by her daughter, Myrna Fish of Scituate, MA, her daughter, Susan (Fred) Drexler of Lakeville, her son, Daniel Zielske of Mankato, her brother, Rodger (Mavis) Grimmelman of LeSeuer, her sister, Rose Steinbach of Hugo, her sister, Mavis (Gus) Olson of Elmore, grandchildren: Lauren (Steven) Lowing, Andrew (Judith) Drexler, Katharine (Caleb) Drexler Booth and seven great grandchildren: Sophie, Sam, Emily, Macy, Katelin, Isabel and Benjamin.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Elmer in 1991, an infant son, Barry, a sister, Lavila Mair and nephew Larry Mair.
