Kathryn Ardis Cherland passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on February 29, 2012 at her home in Forest Lake, MN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 05, 2012, at 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 5:00 until 7:00pm Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and 1 hour before the service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe was born in Radcliffe, Iowa on April 18, 1916 to Anton and Alma (Handeland) Peterson. She graduated from Delavan High School and Mankato School of Beauty. She worked as a hairdresser for 47 years. She married Wayne Cherland on July 8, 1939 in Algona, Iowa and they were married for 51 years before his death in 1990. Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Carole Nelson of Osseo, MN and Carna (Greg) Brandt of Forest Lake, MN, three granddaughters, Jodi (Pat) Sullivan, Katrina and Karissa Brandt, one grandson, Ryan Brandt , two great grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Sullivan, two sisters, Evelyn Abram and Diane Schaper, two brothers, Raymond (Arlene) Peterson, David (Florence) Peterson, sister-in-law, Marjie Peterson, brother-in-law, Richard (Margaret) Cherland and many nieces and nephews. In addition to Wayne, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother. She was a woman whose faith was uppermost in her life and has been a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a compassionate friend to many.
