Maxwell Calvin Brown

Maxwell C Brown age 93 of Park Rapids and Elmore, MN passed away March 24. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with burial to follow at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Cemetery in Easton. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Maxwell was born November 10, 1918 the son of Fred and Lillian (Larson) Brown. Max was a WWII veteran, a long time employee of the U.S. Postal Service and an avid golfer. He also enjoyed hiking and biking the Heartland Trail in Dorset, MN.He was preceeded in death by wife, Kathryn and daughter Susan Gutzke. Maxwell is survived by sister Beverly (Norm) Purvis of Lyons, Oregon, son William (Jackie) Brown of Park Rapids, daughters Mary K Stricker of Mason City, Iowa, Nancy Thompson of Brooklyn Park, Jean Brown of Shakopee, son-in-law Roger Gutzke, grandchildren Elizabeth (Don) Allen, Carrie (Colin) Overby, Holly (Nick) Deering, Theresa Gutzke, Tim Gutzke, Alicia Allison, Tina Brown, Max Brown and 7 great grandchildren. A special thanks to the caregivers at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
