FLORENCE M. SIMMONS DOBSON, age 99, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth, MN.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Church with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comFlorence was born July 06, 1912 in Radcliff, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Olson) Stenberg. Growing up, she attended country school in Kossuth County, and high school in Buffalo Center, IA. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She was married to Donald Willis Simmons for 59 years and to Orville Dobson for 3 years.Florence worked many years for the Elmore Nursery making Christmas wreaths, bows and festooning. She was known by many as a wonderful seamstress making wedding gowns, prom dresses, and clothing. In her spare time, she loved playing the piano and singing with her many grandchildren. Grandma Sally, as she was known to her family, is survived her step-brother, Francis Stenberg, step-daughter, Velma Meyer and by 8 grandchildren, Randy, Tamara, Lael, Darci, Vicki, Larry, Diane and Gerald. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, 26 great, great grandchildren and 2 great, great, great grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her husbands Donald and Orville, son, Orlo Simmons, daughter, Beverly Risk, son-in-law Darreld Risk, and sister, Marjorie Goulson.
