Albert John Fenske, age 86, of Blue Earth, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Parker Oaks in Winnebago. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Patton Funeral Home, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth with Rev. Janet Crissinger-Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 until service time at the funeral home on Sunday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Web tributes may left for the family at www.pattonfh.com. Albert John Fenske, the son of Fredrick H. and Vernie M. (Pearson) Fenske was born on April 15, 1926 in Blue Earth. Albert grew up on a farm near Frost. He attended country school and High School in Frost. At the age of 17, during WW II he joined the Marine Corps; he was in the 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Regiment, 3rd Battalion, I company. He saw action in Okinawa where he was wounded and received the purple heart. He was discharged on November 2, 1945. Albert was a life member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion for 65 years. After being discharged he lived in Denver, Colorado where he met Betty J. Brown and they were married on July 17, 1948. They returned to Minnesota where they actively farmed for 43 years.Those who celebrate Albert''s life and morn his passing include his wife of 64 years, Betty Fenske of Blue Earth, daughter Patricia (Merrill) Smith of Blue Earth, daughter, Judith (Allen) Prestegard of Blue Earth, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Anna) Fenske of Amery, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, son-Fredrick Allen and his sister and her husband, Violet & Pat Pedelty.
