Mary Ethel Anderson, age 85, of Blue Earth, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Leo Koppala, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM Wednesday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMary was born August 12, 1925, in Ramsey Co., MN, the daughter of Arthur and Clare I. (Tibodeau) Gansmoe. She was raised and educated in the Brush Creek area and attended Wells High Parochial School. She graduated from the Good Counsel School in Mankato and teacher training school in Blue Earth. She taught at the district 108 rural school before her marriage to Vernon R. Anderson on April 9, 1947 in Blue Earth. She later worked at Telex in Blue Earth for over 10 years and then as a Nurses Aid at St. Luke'' Lutheran Care Center for over 15 years. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was a Catholic Daughter. She was also a member of the VFW Auxilliary in Wells and enjoyed quilting, sewing, performing as a violinist and volunteering at various places including with hospice.Mary is survived by her son Michael (Patty) Anderson of Watertown, SD, her daughter, Marcia (Richard) Schroeder of Wells, her son, Matthew (Peggy) Anderson of Webster City, Iowa, her son, Mark (Robin) Anderson of Garner, Iowa, her daugter, Melanie (Scott) Phillips of Winnebago, her brother, Eugene (Gerry) Gansmoe of Blue Earth, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1994, sister, Myrtle Beringer and a grandson, Michael John Anderson.
