JARROD R. STANTON, age 73, of Elmore, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Elmore United Methodist Church, with Rev. Arthur Keith, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. He was a lifelong Elmore resident, graduating from Elmore High School in1956. He was married to Carol A. Leach on June 11, 1960 in Elmore. Jarrod began working as a custodian for the Elmore Schools in1963 where he also drove school bus for sporting events. After 34 years with the school he began working as custodian for YSI in 1997 after the school closing. He retired in 2009 for health reasons. He was a member of the Elmore United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a gun safety firearms instructor and volunteer fireman in Elmore for many years. Jarrod is survived by his son, Tim (Brenda) Stanton of Mountain Home, Idaho, his son, Troy (Tammi) Stanton of Mazeppa, his daughter, Pam (Brian) Zimmerman of Cleveland, MN, his son, Trent (Sarah) Stanton of West Fargo, North Dakota, and nine grandchildren: David Roach, Christa Stewart, Erica Stanton, Joseph Stanton, Jessica Stanton, Joshua Stanton, Jacob Zimmerman, Jenna Zimmerman and Helena Stanton.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carol in 2004.
