HELEN C. HANSON, age 91, of Blue Earth, died, Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at United Hospital, Blue Earth.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 10:30 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Janet Crissinger-Clark, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Saturday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth and one hour prior to service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe was born March 9, 1920, at Gravelbank, Ohio, the daughter of Oscar and Clara (Roe) Pinkerton. She was raised and educated in Ohio where she attended schools. She moved to Blue Earth in 1939 and was married to Donald G. Hanson on November 21, 1939 in Granada, MN. She was a homemaker and had worked at the local canning factories and later for the Laundry/Dry Cleaners and eventually did house cleaning for local families. Helen was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, puzzles, crotcheting, knitting, and anytime she could go out to eat with family and friends. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Helen is survived by her daughter, Dianne Hughes of Blue Earth, her son, Robert ( Loretta) Hanson of Lincoln, Nebraska, half-sister, Blanche Beaver of Massillon, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Donald in 1989, daughters, Norma Greiman & Gloria Baumann, grandson, Dennis Baumann, brothers, Glenn, Wilbur, Doran and Elvin Pinkerton, sisters, Ruth Pinkerton & Elizabeth Cunningham and sons-in-law, James Hughes & John Greimann.
