IRVIN C. MILBRANDT, age 70, of Elmore, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis as a result of injuries sustained in a farm accident. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, with Rev. Robert Roettger, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore, Minnesota. Visitation time will be from Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comIrvin was born May 13, 1941, in Elmore, the son of Wesley G. and Ruth A. (Ankeny) Milbrandt. He was raised and educated in the Pilot Grove and Elmore areas where he attended country schools and was a 1959 graduate of Elmore High School. While attending the University of Minnesota, illness in the family required Irvin to return home and run the family farm. He was married to Sherrene Nelson in April of 1971 at Albion Lutheran Church in St. James. Following her death in 1974, he was later married to Marcia Olson Barton on May 24, 1980 at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. Irvin was a lifetime farmer in the Elmore area where he was a member of and delegate for the Associated Milk Producers, the Faribault Co. Dairy Association, was a lifetime member of Farm Bureau and was an active member of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore was he served as a deacon and trustee many times. Irvin was a people person who always loved good food and conversation with anyone, especially with his many friends. He also enjoyed traveling when he could get away from the farm on occasion.Irvin is survived by his wife, Marcia Milbrandt of Elmore, , his daughter, Sara (Bruce) Andersen of Hutchinson, his son, Keith (Lori) Barton of Blue Earth, his daughter, Ruth Ann Milbrandt and fiancee Jon Christensen of Hutchinson, his brother, Doug Milbrandt of Elmore, his brother, Bruce (Pam) Milbrandt of Storm Lake, Iowa , his brother, Ross Milbrandt of Elmore, his sister, Ruth Ann (John) Stalder of Calgary Alberta, Canada, his sister, Rose (John) Berry of Tomah, Wisconsin, his foster sister, Olive Richardson of Swea City, Iowa, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Sherrene and a sister, Dawn Mildbrandt.
