Marvin Pirsig

May 2, 1919 — January 30, 2005

Marvin was born May 2, 1919, at Elmore, the son of Ernest and Martha (Kienitz) Pirsig.He was raised and educated in the Elmore area where he attended country schools. He farmed on his family farm before entering the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a military policeman during WW II, serving in Australia and later in the U.S. At the end of the war he was married to Lucille G. Henke on August 25, 1945 in Blue Earth. The couple spent all their married life in Blue Earth where Marvin was a foreman with the Faribault Co. Highway Department. He also did TV Repair for several years. Marvin retired in 1984. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 89 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4580. Marvin was an avid fisherman, going north twice a year to fish for over 30 years. Family & friends enjoyed him playing his guitar and singing country western music throught the years. Marvin is survived by his wife, Lucille Pirsig of Blue Earth, daughter, JoAnn & husband Larry Oltman of Greeley, Colorado, daughter, Kathy Anderson of Blue Earth, grandchildren: Lori & husband, Rod Clark of Greeley, Colorado, David & wife Connie Krosch of Wessington, South Dakota, Tricia Jo & husband Randy Shindelar of Plainview, MN, Chad & wife Shannon Anderson of Wells and Michael & wife Erin Anderson of Zimmerman, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother..
