Arnold Jenkins

Arnold was born September 25, 1927, in Delavan , the son of John H. and Lucinda (Wallace) Jenkins.He was raised and educated in Delavan where he was a 1945 graduate of Delavan High School. After his schooling he continued to farm his family farm where he was born, South West of Delavan. He was married to Colette McDermott on August 15, 1948 at the Delavan Methodist Church. He lived all his life on the farm in Prescott Township, where he dairy farmed for 38 years until he began raising Arabian Horses. Arnold owned the Arn-Ett Arabians where he raised Arabian horses for over 30 years. He produced the 1983 National Champion Arabian Stallion. Arnold was a 45 year member of the Delavan Methodist Church, serving 35 years as church treasurer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Colette Jenkins of Delavan, daughter, Candis (& husband Roger) Carr of Elmore, daughter, Connie (& husband Art) Ross of Rochester, son, Greg (& wife Annette) Jenkins of Winnebago, daughter, Peggy Surratt of Blue Earth, brother, Norman (& wife Mary Ann) Jenkins of Mapleton, sister, Lucille (& husband Ed) Parrish of Delavan, sister, Florence Sorenson of Lake Crystal, sister, Mavis Schumacher of Morristown, grandchildren: Paul (& wife Karla) Carr, Lisa (& husband Mark) Portner, Angela (& husband Monte) Imm, Meredith Jenkins, Christopher Jenkins, Colan Surratt & Kendall Surratt, and great grandchildren, Luke & Anthony Carr.Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, an infant daughter, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
