Robert Daly was born June 15, 1912, at Granada, MN, the son of John C. and Edith (Boisclair) Daly.As a child he lived on the family farm in Pleasant Prairie Township. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1929 and then attended St. Mary''s University of Winona. On April 28, 1942 he married Beth Murray in Blue Earth. Bob joined the army during WWII and served with the 29th infantry in the European Theater. Following his service in the war the couple lived in Minneapolis for a time before coming back to Blue Earth in the late 1940''s. In 1950 they moved to Fairmont where Bob worked as an industrial machinery mechanic at Stokely-VanKamp. He continued to work there for many years, retiring in the mid 1970''s. He returned to Blue Earth in 1998 where he was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Blue Earth American Legion Post 89. Bob was a loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and never missed a broadcast game. Bob''s family & friends were a very important part of his life. He especially loved visiting with his nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Joanie (& husband Harry) Hurley of Spring Park, sister, Lorraine Kraft of Blue Earth, grandsons: Pat, Tom & Eric Hurley, great grandchildren: Maria, Brianna, Jayden, Autumn, Ashley & Jackson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Bob was preceded in death by his wife-Beth in 1980, brothers- Albert, Frank, Bill & John Daly, sisters- Lillian Daly, Sr. Mary Timothy, OSF and Ann Carr.
