Loren Slette

Loren was born January 11, 1958, at Albert Lea, MN, the son of Orville P. and Irene P. (Ausen) Slette.He was raised in the Walters and Kiester areas where he graduated from Kiester High School in 1976. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980. Loren returned from the service and attended Mankato Vocational College where he studied auto body repair. He was married to Kimberly K. Movick on April 3, 1981 in Mankato. He worked for Jerry''s Auto Body shop in Mankato and later at Chuck''s Auto Body in Eagle Lake before moving to Mapleton in 1991. He has worked for Scotts Auto Body in Mapleton since 1991, where he was a frame alignment specialist. The couple moved to Blue Earth in 1996 where he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Loren loved NASCAR racing and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He also spent many hours repairing local race cars for several area racing teams.Loren is survived by his wife, Kim Slette of Blue Earth, daughters: Leah M. (& fiancee Joe Gehrke) of Mankato, Lindsey M Slette of Mankato, Katlyn S. Slette of Blue Earth, Makenzie K. Slette of Blue Earth, granddaughter, Kylie Marie Slette of Mankato, parents, Orville & Irene Slette of Walters, sister, Sandra Goemann of Plymouth, sister, Shirley Sandt of Pennsylvania, brother, Larry Slette of Walters, sister, Diane Fiebelkorn of Kiester, brother, Darell Slette of Walters, sister, Janet Van Deer of Walters and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents-Sidney & Minnie Slette and maternal grandparents-Irvin & Palma Ausen.
