Doris Whitney

Doris Rachell Johnson, the daughter of William and Bertha (Nelson) Johnson, was born January 24, 1916 in Story County, Iowa.She graduated from Delavan High School in 1934. Doris was united in marriage with George W. Whitney in Mapleton on July 29, 1934. They farmed in the Delavan area until George''s death in 1976. Doris moved to Blue Earth in 1980 and entered St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in 1998.She is survived by three children, Beverly Jensen, Edina, Phyllis (Mrs. Robert) Ficken of Blue Earth, Michael (& wife Stella) Whitney of Edgerton, Wisconsin, daughter-in-law, JoAnn Brayland of Alden, sister, Twyla Lou Lane of Warrington, PA, 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill & Betty, husband George, sons- Robert & Charles ?Bill? Johnson, brother-Everett Johnson, sister-Janet Mackie and 2 grandsons.
