Arnold Elvestrom

June 9, 1908 — February 7, 2004

Arnold Melanchton Elvestrom was born June 9, 1908, at Bricelyn, Mn. the son of Andrew and Sena (Jacobson) Elvestrom. He was baptized and confirmed his faith at South Blue Earth Lutheran Church, Bricelyn. He received his early education in the Bricelyn Schools and graduated from Blue Earth High School, and attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Arnold married Irene Frandle in 1935 at Dell Lutheran Church in rural Frost. Except for at short period of time spent in Sacred Heart, Mn, Arnold and Irene lived their entire married lives in Blue Earth. His early employment was in the furniture business. He then became involved in car sales; and, later, with is love of the outdoors, found much enjoyment with his career in the logging business. Arnold was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was well read in many subjects, his special interests being geography and history. He was always ready to assist and loved telling stories and performing tricks for family members and friends. His personal warmth and optimism bridged the separation between generations. He had a genuine affection for young people.Arnold is survived by his Son: Don (& wife Joyce) Elvestrom of Lutsen, MN, Daughter: Donna (& husband Ade) Sponberg of Tucson, Arizona, Sister: Emily (& husband Rev. Arndt) Halvorson of Wauconia, MN, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
