Elsie M. Johnson, age 93, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday October 19, 2004, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004, at 10:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth, with Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center. Visitation time will be from 9:00-10:00a.m. at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, in Blue Earth. on Friday. She was born October 14, 1911, at Clearmont, Missouri, the daughter of David & Eva(Ackley)Cowger. The family moved to Blue Earth when Elsie was 14 years old where she completed her elementary education. On June 30, 1934 she married Joseph C. Johnson in Faribault County. After living in North Mankato they moved to Vernon Center in 1949. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on September. 11, 1966. She worked as a nurse''s aid doing home health care in New Ulm and Waseca for many years. She touched many lives and made life long lasting friendships doing this work she loved before retiring to Crescent Apartments in Blue Earth in 1986. Elsie loved cooking, reading, antiques, crocheting, and visiting with family and friends. She loved her Lord, her family, her friends, her wonderful caregivers, and always loved babies and dogs. She is survived by her Daughter: Lois & her husband, Earl Busse, Blue Earth, Son: Stanley Johnson, Blue Earth, Son in Law: Rev. Robert Ziegler, Atchison, KS, Six Grandchildren: Anne(Preston)Compton, Allison(Ron)Arends, Andy Ziegler, Janet(Joe)Michaelis, Brad(Brigitta)Diel, and Veronica(Terrance)Hamann. Eleven Great Grandchildren: Elsa Compton, Tyler Arends, Drew, Gary, & Marissa Ziegler, Derek, Emily, Joel, & Abbey Michaelis, Chris & Jon Diel. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a grandaughter, a great grandson, three brothers, and five sisters.
