John H. Frundt

August 31, 1913 — December 24, 2004

A lifelong resident of Blue Earth, John Henry Frundt was born to Henry John and Anna (Graham) Frundt on August 31, 1913. He married Mary Ellen Kane, Benson, Minnesota, in 1939. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School he joined his fathers'' law firm in Blue Earth (now known as Frundt and Johnson) where he practiced law for 50 years. John served on the building committees for the 1949 hospital in Blue Earth and the SS Peter & Paul Catholic School. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce, Republican State Central Committee, and the Blue Earth Area Educational Association. He served as a director for the Blue Earth State Bank and the Blue Earth Valley Telephone Company. As an attorney, he was an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, and served on its Board of Governors and as president of the 17th Judicial District Bar Association. Frundt was active in Boy Scouts of America and earned the Silver Beaver Award. He served on the board of St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center where he was a resident for the past 6 years. He was an active golfer an served on a committee that planned the present Riverside Town and Country Club clubhouse.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Frundt. He is survived by his five children, Henry and wife Bette, Montclair, NJ; Charles and wife Rita, Blue Earth, MN;Mary and husband Dr. William Shimp, Lonsdale, MN; Sister Mara Frundt, SSND, Kisumu, Kenya; and Anne and husband Peter Wildenborg, Red Wing, MN; as well as sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.He will be deeply missed. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Centers'' Room for Hope.
