Prudence Bjerke

Prudence Bjerke, age 101, of Blue Earth, died November 10, 2003, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at 1:30 PM, at the First United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Dorothy J. Bull officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Blue Earth. There will be no visitation. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth in charge of arrangements. She was born December 5, 1901, in Kossuth County, IA, the daughter of James & Anna (Scott) Snyder.Prudence moved with her family to the Blue Earth area in 1903. She was a graduate of Blue Earth High School and Mankato State Teachers College. She taught school in North Dakota and Minnesota. She was active in the United Methodist Church, Garden Club, and the Minnesota Senior Federation.. She is survived by her Daughter: Marilyn Abram of Edina, MN, Daughter: Barbara Frederickson, Arvada, CO, Grandchildren: Gregg & Shelly Abram, Chaska, MN, Grandchildren: Julie & David North, St. Lewis Park, MN, Great Grandchildren: Kimberly North. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lucile Nelson & Jean Streater .
