Robert "Bob" Moore, age 68, of Blue Earth died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with leukemia. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth with Father Jon Moore officiating, burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth. He was born July 15th, 1944 at Blue Earth, the son of Donald and Mildred (Paul) Moore. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1963 and attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Bob and wife Carol (Murphy) were high school sweethearts and partners in marriage for over 48 years.
Bob was employed by the Faribault, Blue Earth, and Martin County Soil and Water Conservation Services where he designed and implemented drainage systems. After his government employment, he worked in tile sales and surveying for Elmore Concrete. In 1973 he purchased the drainage business from Joseph Teubner of Winnebago which became Bob Moore Drainage & Excavating, where he was able to pursue his love of agriculture, land and working outdoors. He was highly respected for his knowledge of tiling and drainage. He truly enjoyed his work; his customers, his employees, and working with his son, Jeff. He was a great problem solver, highly respected for his integrity and work ethic.
Bob liked to read, coffee with the "guys" and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His patient, kind, soft-spoken strength will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, daughter Julie (Mark) Ono of Scottsdale, AZ, son Jeffrey (Brenda) Moore of Blue Earth, MN and 5 grandchildren: Molly Ono, Alex Ono, Ellaina Moore, Myles Moore, and Chelsea Johnson. He is also survived by 6 siblings: Mary (Lawrence) Demeules of Maple Grove, MN, Paul (Vicki) Moore of Richmond, VA, Father Jon Moore of Austin, MN, Mark (Judy) Moore of Blue Earth, Mn, Monica (Dan) Danks of Fairmont, MN, and Brian (Alexis) Moore of Jackson Hole, WY.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sibling, William, and his mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Carmel Murphy.
